Motorcycle Tour
ASCE is offering a motorcycle tour for non-golfers in coordination with the ASCE golf outing on June 25. The cost will be $35 for dinner at the Darby Creek Golf Course, located between Plain City and Marysville. We typically start the ride from the McDonalds at Rt. 161 and Avery-Muirfield Dr. in Dublin at about noon, and finish at the golf course between 4 and 5 pm, taking back roads to the northwest of Columbus, with a stop at some notable (or not so notable) site in that area.

14th Annual ASCE Golf Outing June 25th!!
Don’t forget to signup for the 14th annual ASCE Central Ohio Section Golf Outing to be held June 25th, 11:00a.m. at Darby Creek Golf Course. The format is the ever popular 2 person mixed format. For $65, the same price for the past 5 years, you get greens fees, cart, driving range, drink tickets, lunch, steak and chicken dinner, beverages, tons of hole and place prizes and lots of “those” pies at the end.
June Planning Meeting
The ASCE June Planning Meeting will be held on Wednesday June 16th from 6:00 – 8:00 pm at Tommy’s Pizza in Dublin. The Planning Meeting will help us generate topics of discussion throughout the year at the monthly lunch meetings.

Invitation to Join Order of the Engineer
The Order of the Engineer is an organization created to foster a spirit of pride and responsibility in the engineering profession.
The Order is not a membership organization; there are never any meetings to attend or dues to pay. Instead, the Order fosters a unity of purpose and the honoring of one's pledge lifelong to "Upholding Devotion to the Standards and Dignity of the Engineering profession." Members accepting the obligation often wear a stainless steel ring on the small finger of their working hand.
Younger Members Social
A social event with the ASCE National President-Elect will be held at the Varsity Club on Wednesday May 19, 2010 from 6:00-8:00pm. The event will be similar to last year's event.

It will be held in the outdoor patio area, weather permitting.

Ms. Caldwell is coming to us all the way from Florida, where she is president of Caldwell Cook and Associates and an adjunct professor at the University of Florida in Gainesville. Ms. Caldwell will begin her presidency in the fall of 2010.

Moving Ahead 2010: Sustainable Transportation Solutions for the 21st Century

Central Ohio’s Geology in Core and Outcrop Workshop
The Ohio Department of Natural Resources, Division of Geological Survey and the Ohio Geological Society in cooperation with DLZ-Ohio, Inc., invite engineering and geoscience professionals to unravel the mysteries of the near-surface geology of central Ohio. Workshop attendees will earn professional development hours while learning about the diagnostic environmental and geologic characteristics; hydrogeologic properties; general engineering characteristics; potential environmental and geologic hazards; and economic uses for each mapped, geologic unit.
