Stream bank volunteer cleanup at Griggs Reservoir (Arlington) as part of Central Ohio River Pride (www.riverpride.org). Cleanup is from 9am to noon. Meet at the Scioto Boat Club on the west side of the river. Long pants and closed-toe shoes are recommended.

The Central Ohio Section of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) is sponsoring a "Civil Engineering Career Day". The purpose of the program is to expose high school juniors to the profession in hopes that they may consider civil engineering as a career. In the past, the program has received national recognition from ASCE for the excellent exposure that the students and community receive as part of the program. This year the program will take place April 20, 2011.

The Ohio State University chapter of Engineers Without Borders invites you to attend their first annual Banquet and Silent Auction on October 20, 2010 at the Ohio State Faculty Club.

EWB-OSU students will present their work on a latrine project in El Salvador. The design promotes sustainable technology and it will allow the community to receive treated drinking water in the future.

On May 20th, Ohio Council will hold a press conference at the Ohio Statehouse to unveil the findings as reported in the Ohio Infrastructure Report Card.

The Central Ohio Section encourages all members and the general public to view Liquid Assets, a ninety-minute documentary, that tells the story of essential infrastructure systems: water, wastewater, and stormwater. These systems — some in the ground for more than 100 years — provide a critical public health function and are essential for economic development and growth. Largely out of sight and out of mind, these aging systems have not been maintained, and some estimates suggest this is the single largest public works endeavor in our nation’s history.

The Ohio Council of ASCE and OSPE are presenting a joint legislative day program on June 10, 2008.

This year's Central Ohio ASCE Civil Engineering Career day will held on April 22, 2008. We will tour two active construction projects. They are the Marysville Water Reclamation Facility in the morning and the 6-story Grange Insurance Parking Garage in the afternoon. Lunch will be provided for those attending and will be held at the Buckeye Hall of Fame Café.
